A Philadelphia neighborhood for those who notice kindness… and those who need it.
Welcome to Violet Street Station
Next stop… wherever hope is going.

Read the station map · Step into The Tangled Teacup · Follow the ivy upstairs
You may have heard of Urban Lemonade.
Someone mentioned The Tangled Teacup. Someone else gave you directions to a diner, though they couldn’t quite remember the street. A conductor smiled when you asked.
And now, here you are. The lamps are lit, the café is warm, and there’s room for one more.
Please mind the gap between the ordinary and the extraordinary.
A word from the conductor
“First time?
“Most folks don’t mean to end up here. Some are looking for coffee. Some are looking for courage. Some don’t know what they’re looking for until they arrive.
“Tickets aren’t required. Just curiosity.”
Some stories are true. Some are almost true. The rest know better than to ask questions.
A neighborhood you notice when you need it.
Urban Lemonade is tucked somewhere into Philadelphia, in the space between a familiar corner and something you could swear wasn’t there yesterday.
To most people, it’s a rumor.
But perhaps you’ve always noticed the things other people walk past: a flower growing through the pavement, recognizing a bard in the subway tunnels, a bench that appears unoccupied, yet provides companionship.
You’ll find your way around.
There’s coffee at Ol’ Bea’s, conversation in The Tangled Teacup, and something waiting to be read at Dollybird Library. You can stay a while. Nobody here considers that an inconvenience.
There is absolutely nothing to see in the ivy.
No, keep walking, nothing to see here.
Some things are kept because they’re loved.

The Gallery
A home for artwork, photographs, and seasonal illustrations. We’re still arranging the walls.
Until then, the Violet Street artwork above is your first glimpse.
