There is a bench behind The Starling and Violet where the grieving go. No one will ask you to explain why you have come or how long you intend to stay.
Branwen’s starling still carries messages across impossible distances. The well holds what cannot yet be carried. The tree keeps the names entrusted to its branches.
Some messages go by wing. Some are held by water. Some simply need a place to rest.
Choose what you need
The three quiet invitations below are for your thoughts or your own notebook; they need no submission. If you would like to request a ribbon on the tree, use the Tie a Clootie form farther down.
Calico Cait Sìth keeps quiet company nearby. You can sit together without finding anything to say.
Send it by starling
Think of what you need to say, or write it in your notebook. The starling does not require perfect sentences. When you’re ready, imagine your words taking wing.
Leave it with the well
Name the burden, question, or unfinished thing you would like to set down for a little while. Picture the water holding it for you. You may rest here without finding an answer.
Leave a Birdie
Hold the name of someone you carry with you. Imagine a ribbon—violet, gold, sage, faded blue, or cream—and tie it gently to the tree in your mind. Their name is welcome here.
🧶 Tie a Clootie
Remember someone you love by adding their name to the Clootie Tree. The tree is always available to all.
Each clootie is received with care, blessed, and tended before finding its place among the branches.
